FAQ

  • What Is Worship Like?

Expect a joyful, blended service with:

    • Contemporary worship led by our NewLight band
    • Beloved hymns
    • Weekly Communion (open to everyone)
    • A children’s moment
    • Prayer, scripture, and a thoughtful sermon

We also celebrate meaningful seasonal services like Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday.

Our hope: that you feel at home the moment you walk in.

  • How Do People Dress?

    Come as you are.
Jeans, shorts, dresses, suits—it's all welcome. You’ll see people with coffee in hand, kids with tablets, and folks of every background worshipping together.

  • How long is the service?

Our worship service is usually about an hour—just long enough to breathe deeply, connect with God and one another, and leave feeling a little lighter than you came. We keep things meaningful, not marathon-length. Come as you are, settle in, and exhale.

  • What happens with Communion?

As a Disciples of Christ congregation, our table is open. Every Sunday, we pause for Communion, and everyone is invited—no membership required, no spiritual résumé needed. Whether you’ve been following Jesus for years or you’re still figuring out what you believe, you are welcome to share in this sacred meal of grace, belonging, and hope.

  • How can I watch online or stay connected digitally?

You can join us live every Sunday through our Facebook Live stream at @RowlettFCC, and catch up anytime throughout the week. We also share updates, events, and inspiration through social media and our weekly newsletters. Whether you’re traveling, home with kids, or checking us out for the first time, you can stay connected from wherever you are.

  • What does your church think about questions and doubts?

We love questions. Seriously. Disciples of Christ have a long tradition of honoring freedom of belief and trusting that the Holy Spirit still speaks. Your questions, doubts, curiosity, and wonderings are welcome here. You don’t have to have everything figured out to belong—this is a safe, grace-filled community where you can explore at your own pace.

  • Is the church active in the community?

Very much so. We believe faith should move beyond the walls of a building and into the places where people live, struggle, and thrive. From supporting local families through outreach ministries and service projects, to partnering with organizations that care for our neighbors, we show God’s love with our hands and feet. If you have a heart for helping others, you'll fit right in.

  • How Do I Join?

    Membership is simple and personal.
If you believe in Jesus as Lord and Savior, you’re welcome to come forward during the invitation—or speak privately with the pastor anytime.

After your confession of faith, we’ll help you explore your spiritual gifts, baptism (if desired), and ways to connect and serve. There is no pressure to “officially join.” We’re simply grateful you’re here.

  • How do I get connected or involved?

Start wherever feels comfortable! Join us for worship, pop into a small group or class, volunteer with one of our outreach ministries, or come help with community events. There’s no pressure and no hoops to jump through—just people who are genuinely glad you’re here. Whether you're dipping a toe in or ready to dive deep, there’s a place with your name on it. Reach out to Pastor Ann or the church office to help get plugged in today!
