Greeting Fellow Disciples,
It is with joy that I am able to inform you the Interim Search Committee
has settled on the candidate best suited to lead our congregation.
Reverend Rick Truitt will begin office hours January 25, 2012 and be in
the pulpit January 29, 2012 . Pastor Truitt has a great deal of training
and experiences in leading congregations through difficult times. I trust
you will welcome he and his wife Carol into our fold.
Pastor Ann Dotson will be speaking to us for the next four Sundays. I
have received her lesson plans and know we will be very blessed. Pastor
Ann continues to go above and beyond what has been asked of her, and
I encourage you to let her know how much we appreciate her. Her hours
have been decreased and the Elders will be sharing many of her duties.
This has been a tremendously difficult year and I am so grateful to the
Ministry Council, my fellow Elders, and the Finance Committee for
their diligence in prayer as well as the restructuring of the budget and
maintaining the continuity as we saw to the business of maintaining the
functions of the Lord’s church. I am thankful to all of you who have
sent emails, cards and phone calls of encouragement in difficult times.
It is with heavy hearts as we say goodbye to our Pastor and his precious
family, knowing God has chosen a path for him and will watch over
them.
I promise to give you the very best of myself in the coming year. I am
humbled by the faith you have placed in me. Please continue to give me
your thoughts and concerns. I will continue to ask for you to pray and
to speak to one another with Christian love.
I await the new year with great anticipation of what God can do. I do
not know what the future may hold, but I know Who holds the future.
May the peace and holiness of this season be upon you and your family.
In Christ,
Rhonda Gelbar

This Sunday during both worship services, I will share my decision to resign as the senior minister of FCC Rowlett. I have wrestled with this decision for quite some time, and feel that to honor God and this church community, it is time. Please come to church this Sunday, and hear the message God will put upon my heart. I remember five years ago the excitement of being called as your pastor, and the joy we've shared for these five years. I am looking forward to seeing this church continue to grow, thrive and carry out its many great ministries.
GodSpeed,
Rev. Chad McMullin
